Custom form always need admin permission?

Jan 12, 2011 at 10:20 PM

I created custom forms for a custom list with the Application Page recipe.

I associated the forms with the content type with the <FormsUrl> element in the content type schema.

If I have list admin permissions, everything works fine, I can create/edit/display items with my custom forms.

The problem is if I am just member of the contributors group, when I try to add a new item, I get an acces denied page insted of my form.

I suspect the issue could be caused because the pages use the application.master, which is used for administration pages, instead of default.master.

Is this possible? If this is true, how can I create a page that goes to _layout folder and uses default.master?

I have tried several urls but I can't get it to work.

Any clues?
Thank you,

Hi Manuel,

I would recommend to use the Content Type recipe from SPSF if you need to use custom forms. It creates all the necessary files and works without special permissions.

Kind regards,
